ABBA fans hit out at band's hits getting PC makeover

OUTRAGE: ABBA fans hit out yesterday at the band’s hits getting a PC makeover

Tracks re-recorded for movie Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again have been changed to delete references to flings between young girls and older men.

A line in When I Kissed The Teacher, about a pupil smitten with her male tutor, originally read: “One of these days, Gonna tell him I dream of him every night. One of these days, Gonna show him I care. Gonna teach him a lesson.”

Now, the teacher is female and the lyrics say: “What a mad day, Now I see everything in a different light. What a mad day, I was up in the air. And she taught me a lesson.”

One fan tweeted: “Changing ABBA lyrics because we live in a now pathetic PC world! Cummon the lunatics have taken over!”

Another said: “PC brigade have won. The country is truly f*****.”

Ex-Radio 1 DJ Mike Read, 71, said: “Rock ’n roll was founded on young love. You can’t rewrite history.”

And ABBA’s Bjorn Ulvaeus, 73, said the teacher was made female to avoid a “horrible” key change.
