Amy Winehouse set for hologram tour – and fans aren’t impressed

Music

The family of music legend Amy Winehouse have confirmed a tour for the Rehab singer, kicking off next year.

While hologram tours are by no means new, with Michael Jackson fans seeing the King of Pop on stage following his death, fans aren’t impressed with the decision.

The tour is set to be worldwide, allowing fans to see the iconic singer one last time.

Amy’s family appear to be backing the movement, after confirming the tour will go live.

“To see her perform again is something special”

Speaking out on seeing his daughter on stage again, he told Reuters: “To see her perform again is something special that really can’t be put into words.

“Our daughter’s music touched the lives of millions of people and it means everything that her legacy will continue in this innovative and groundbreaking way.”

He added: “Fans have been clamouring for something new from Amy, but really there isn’t anything.”

Confirming that he thinks it will be good for the fans to be able to see her through a hologram, he shared his excitement for the tour.

Although he’s looking forward to it, fans of the pop star aren’t convinced.

Taking to Twitter to share their distaste, one user wrote: “Who’s actually attending these hologram tour shows?

“Who’s the reason they keep getting booked? I need answers. I just heard an Amy Winehouse hologram tour is in the works.”

Another added: “Ok so I think Amy Winehouse was great, and I bet her live show were too. But this is a hologram.

“I can’t help but wonder what she’d think about this. I would be furious.”

A third user wrote: “A hologram of Amy Winehouse will be touring the world next year – and I seriously don’t know what to say.

“Part of me thinks it’s good that we get the chance to experience her legacy, but another part says no… Rest In Peace.”
