The telly siren, who was filming for the ITV2 series at the time, went to lengths to return the £6,500 vintage diamond to him and put the show on hold.
A source spilled: “She came back from the island to get him out. He wouldn’t leave the house without the ring.
“She had been wearing it because she was quite fond of it and they were still speaking.”
They continued to the Mail On Sunday: “They had a row and are no longer speaking.
“She had hoped they would work things out, but they won’t now.”
Pictures showed Andrew moving out of Caroline’s London flat last week and he was papped with hoards of clothes.
Just yesterday, the former Apprentice star posted a five-page statement about the end of his relationship with Caroline.
“Caroline came back from the island to get him out. He wouldn’t leave the house without the ring”
He spilled: “My relationship with Caroline will always remain special to me. We were deeply in love, as proven by the level of commitment from the early state of our relationship.
“For reasons personal to us, we mutually decided it was going to be very difficult to sustain a long term relationship, but was more about our personalities than our actions.
“Our relationship will remain special in my life, a part I will never forget.”
Within the same time period as Andrew’s post was shared, Caroline popped a cryptic pic on her feed for her 1.8million followers to try and decipher.
The photo was of a sunset and the text over the night sky, read: “Hate is heavy. Let it go.”
She captioned it: “Just be nice. You never know how someone is feeling, even if they are smiling on the outside.”
The pair confirmed their relationship had ended at the beginning of the month, just three months after announcing their engagement.
