The Saturday Night Takeaway host was busted for drink-driving after failing a roadside breathalyser, and was taken away by police.
Anthony McPartlin was released the following morning and charged with drink-driving.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed he will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on April 4.
Soon after the collision, it was announced that Ant would return to rehab after completing a stint for painkiller addiction last year.
He also pulled out of his TV commitments, leaving his co-host Declan Donnelly, 42, to front Saturday Night Takeaway solo.
With Ant off-air to get the help he desperately needs, we can reveal that the national treasure will return fighting fit by the end of the year.
We spoke with psychic to the stars Sally Cudmore, who exclusively revealed Ant would return to TV in November 2018 – just in time for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
“I feel that until around November or December he’ll keep a very low profile,” she explained.
“I don’t think we’ll hear much from him at all.
“There will be a hiccup though, around May time, but he’s getting the help he needs. By the end of the year he’ll be back on our screens.”
“People will trust and respect him again”
She added: “He’s got a very addictive personality, he’s very lost and he always has been. He puts on this front and I believe people that really know him know that he’s never been happy.
“He’s one of those people who has tend to get quite depressed, going back years he’s been quite down. Where he hasn’t dealt with it, it’s just got worse and worse.”
Thankfully, some good news is on the way for the troubled TV host.
“There is gold and silver around him so I do feel quite positive that by the end of this year things are changing,” Sally added.
“People will trust and respect him again.”
It’s not just Ant’s career that will pick up again, but his personal life too.
Ant, who has presented I’m A Celebrity since 2002, announced he would divorce his wife of 11 years Lisa Armstrong earlier this year.
However, Sally – who has appeared on This Morning and Loose Women – believes there’s love on the horizon for the Geordie legend.
She continued: “I do feel a new relationship for him eventually and I feel him coming back in a more positive way.
“I think someone slightly younger than him will promise a new beginning. I feel there will be one child around him too.
“I can’t see him and his ex-wife ever getting back together.”
