The hi-vis orange hoodie, with strips of reflective tape, is part of ASOS’ new COLLUSION arm.
According to brand, the collection is “built for a new generation united in their pursuit for inclusivity and representation”.
But the ‘Everyone Together’ hoodie has more than a passing resemblance to road workers’ clobber.
An image of the £30 top was shared on Reddit with the caption: “Lol, these hoodies.”
Many of the comments, while brutal, were funny, too.
One person wrote: “When you’re tarmacking the M6 but have a party at 6.”
“Community service casual,” added another, while someone else remarked: “As Seen On Site.”
Launched last year, COLLUSION is billed as a “new brand for the coming-of-age generation that refuses to compromise on principle or style.”
On Reddit, another person wrote: “That reminds me; I’ve got to put the bins out tonight. Thanks!”
Citing health and safety rules, someone else said: “I mean you can get all kinds of funky workwear, not sure if that’ll pass EN471, but it might well do.
“Orange and yellow are approved colours, and the stripes look like they cover a considerable area.”
“Road man clobber,” said another.
