The film’s writing team are keen to bring back as many familiar faces as possible.
That means John, who was Boycie in Only Fools And Horses, will be back as “shifty” Monty Staines.
The 76-year-old said: “The movie will be marvellous.
“I’d like to think that Monty will be on an anger management course in Alicante. I can’t wait.”
And Shane, 54, who played the dodgy pub entertainer Sammy Valentino in the ITV series, said: “Did someone say movie? I absolutely loved playing Sammy. I think we will tap in to his history. I love putting the wig on too.”
Plans for the movie were confirmed by writer Derren Litten after the series came to an end on telly earlier this year after 10 seasons.
Derren said the film project has attracted interest from a “very big American movie star”.
He was encouraged to make a cinematic adaptation after seeing the Benidorm Live stage tour, which he said is “proving so popular”.
Other stars including Sherrie Hewson, who played Joyce Temple-Savage, and Tony Maudsley, who was Kenneth Du Beke, are thought to have already signed up to reprise their roles.
