Blake Lively admits she was 'intimidated' by Anna Kendrick during new film


Ryan Reynolds’ wife said her and Anna Kendrick got on great on the set of A Simple Favor.

However, did admit that she was “intimidated” by her co-star.

The movie sees Anna play Stephanie, a mummy vlogger, who tries to uncover the truth behind the sudden disappearance of her best friend Emily (Blake) from their small town.

Despite the dark storyline, it also features comedic elements.

Talking about Anna, 33, she told Daily Star Online: “Getting to do a comedy with Anna is really intimidating, as she’s so great.

“But in actual fact it really helps you.”

Blake, 31, also said that being married to funnyman Ryan has sharpened her comedy skills.

She added: “My husband comes from improv comedy so all day long we’re teasing each other and having fun.

“Just being married to him sharpens my comedy skills. It’s like a crash course.”

Asked whether her and Anna hung out together while making the film, Blake said they did’t have much time to.

She continued: “Most of the time we spent hanging out was on camera because it was so much work. We relaxed, played and improvised.

“We had so much fun together though, I think you see that on-screen.”

Blake also spoke out on the film being female-led, saying she hoped others in the industry would follow suit.

She told us: “This film has already done very well in the States and I’m so happy about.

“Some of my favourite films have strong female characters.

“It used to be like that in the days of Betty Davis, then it became men chasing each other. Now it’s nice to have this.”

A Simple Favor is airing in UK cinemas now.
