Jack, who has played David Platt for 18 years, hinted the victim could be a Platt – or someone close to the family.
He told the Daily Star Sunday: “This year I think someone dies at New Year.
“It might be someone to do with the Platts, and no, it’s not David’s dog.”
Jack, 30, said he loves the soap’s darker storylines.

He has won a series of awards after his harrowing portrayal of David’s torment following his male rape ordeal.
Last week Jack, who joined the Street cast aged 12, was crowned Best Actor at the Inside Soap Awards after winning the same gong at the British Soap Awards in June.
He added: “I like the darker storylines. And of course it’s nice to get awards but it’s not something that I go for. “I find it hard to take compliments. I didn’t win funniest male though did I? I was up for that the other year.
“Seriously though, it’s great when Corrie is doing well. EastEnders dominated for years and then Emmerdale and now we are.”
Jack joked that he could do a “Ken Barlow” by staying in the hit ITV soap into his 80s, like Corrie legend Bill Roache, 86.
He said: “If I could, and I was still liking it, still getting the stories and the people were still nice then, yeah.
“It’d be great to be old David.” Jack is in a relationship with Hanni Treweek, who works as a writer on the show. But she’s never come up with an idea for his character.
Jack said: “She works at our place. She’s a storyliner but she’s never storylined for me.
“She won’t do anything for my character. She said it would be weird to come in with an i d e a for her boyfriend.”
