Crystal meth-cooking duo Walt and Jesse were the cult TV show’s lead characters, appearing in all five seasons between 2008 and 2013.
Late last year, Cranston revealed a film was in the offing, but stopped short of confirming his inclusion in the cast.
Now, though, movie news website Revenge of the Fans has claimed both he and Paul will feature in the film.
The site also says Krysten Ritter, who played Jesse’s tragic girlfriend Jane in season one, will return.
Jonathan Banks (Mike Ehrmantraut), Jesse Plemons (Todd Alquist), Charles Baker (Skinny Pete), Matt Jones (Badger) and Robert Forster (Ed) feature in the cast list.
The movie, said to have the working title Greenbrier, will feature “a few surprises” too, reports ROTF.
Given that list includes more than one character who met their end before the series’ conclusion, it’s unclear when the film will be set.
The report says: “Not only will the story [to] find a way bring back Ritter’s Jane – with whom Jesse had a tragic love affair way back during the show’s first season – but series star Cranston is set to play some sort of role in the new film as well.
“This, despite both characters having met their ends on the show.”
Breaking Bad starred Cranston as Walt, a high school chemistry teacher who starts cooking crystal meth to provide for his family financially after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Jesse, one of Walt’s former pupils, joins his old teacher’s drug-dealing enterprise, despite their chequered history.
Back in November, Cranston told The Dan Patrick Show he had spoken to the show’s creator Vince Gilligan
He said: “There appears to be a movie version of Breaking Bad, but I have honestly not even read the script.
“There is a question [of] whether we’d even see Walter White in the movie. I would absolutely do it [play Walter again] – it’s Vince Gilligan and he’s a genius.
“It’s a great story and there’s a lot of people who felt that they wanted to see some kind of completion to some of these storylines that were left open.
“This idea, from what I’m told, gets into those – at least a couple of the characters who were not completed as far as their journey.
“I’m excited about it because it’s Breaking Bad and it was the greatest professional period of my life and I can’t wait to see all those people again.”
