Janine Nerissa has been making waves on the UK gansgster film scene thanks to her stellar acting skills and striking looks.
The stunning starlet – who bares a striking resemblance to A-Lister Megan Fox – has been wowing with a string of performances in movies such as The Krays: Dead Man Walking and We Still Die the Old Way.
But her latest role has seen her venture into the horror genre, as she stars in spooky new movie The Exorcism of Karen Walker, alongside Celebrity Big Brother star and Corrie legend Rula Lenska, 71.
Janine, who plays Diane in the new movie, has revealed all about making the film to Daily Star Online.
She explained: “It was an incredibly low budget film. I mean people talk about low budget but this was a real old fashioned B movie. The shoot was very difficult – we were filming on location in Leicester. It was freezing. One night we walked into a hotel car park and were chased out by armed drug dealers who we’d unwittingly interrupted halfway through a deal!”
Janine explained despite the shoot being less-than-glamorous, the gritty feel really gave the film “its charm”.
“Being low-budget is the film’s charm – this is an old school, Hammer House of Horror style movie, it’s character-driven and has some brilliant performances. Shane Taylor (Band of Brothers), who plays my husband, plays it totally straight and gives a fantastic portrayal of a man descending into fear.

“And I absolutely loved working with Rula Lenska – she’s an absolute legend and was great fun off set. We had some really fun nights out. She’s funny and warm and she has the most unbelievable showbiz anecdotes.
“She was a total pro even in quite trying conditions: she plays an eccentric psychic and had pages and pages of jaw cracking lines about demonology but she was word perfect and never lost that twinkle in her eye.”
Janine explained she felt compelled to get involved in the horror film, due to being a big believer int the supernatural.
She revealed: “I believe in ghosts and the supernatural. When I was younger I had an experience that left me absolutely convinced there is another world we pass on to. After my Aunt Margaret died of breast cancer, I woke up one night to find her sat on the edge of my bed.
“I know I was awake – the room was freezing but I was not afraid. She told me to look after my cousin as he was only 18 months old. Two weeks after when I went to see him he called me ‘mummy’ which he hadn’t done to anyone else. That really sent a shiver down my spine.”
It’s set to be a busy year for the 47-year-old mum-of-four, as she will be returning to her gangster film roots in sequel to The Krays: Dead Man Walking.
Janine will reprise her role of Valerie in the new film, which has evolved from the first one into a “serial killer movie”, with the Krays crossing swords with the infamous Soho murderer known as Jack The Stripper.
She will also be appearing in home invasion movie Reckoning Day, where she will star as Chris Ellison’s (The Bill) wife.
