The pop superstar, who is currently dating Sam Asghari, proved she’s still on top of her game more than two decades into her career.
All 20,000 seats in The O2 Arena were sold out with fans desperate to see the music legend in action on UK soil for the first time in years.
Throughout the two hour show, Britney performed some of her biggest hits including Boys, Toxic, Stronger and Gimme More.
Kicking off with 2013 hit Work Bitch, the blonde beauty flaunted her gym-honed frame in a bejewelled bra and kinky suspenders.
Beginning as she meant to go on, Britney showcased her stellar dance moves with high energy choreography and even higher heels.
Flanked by an army of buff dancers, the American gal demanded attention as she ordered the crowd to ‘get to work’.
Critics of Brit-Brit have accused her of simply going through the motions.
However, if Friday night’s show is anything to go by then the reality couldn’t be further from their claims.
Put simply, her spark is most definitely back.
Britney appeared genuinely pleased to be back on the road once more and gave her all after four years performing in Las Vegas.
Keen to show her new music just as good the classics, the 36-year-old performed Glory album tracks Clumsy, Change Your Mind (No Seas Cortes) Do You Wanna Come Over? and, of course, the record’s lead single Make Me.
The album, which was released in 2016, was Britney’s highest charting record in the UK since 2004.
While 90% of the songs on the set list were global smashes, crowd pleasers came in the form of Piece Of Me, Gimme More and Crazy.
In terms of staging, while Piece Of Me isn’t as lavish or daring as the likes of Britney’s 2009 Circus tour, it’s far from the stripped back set-up Demi Lovato recently offered with her Tell Me You Love Me show.
As well as two raised platforms either side of the stage and a t-shaped catwalk, Britney’s set included a giant onscreen visuals for Toxic, circus themed moving platforms for If You Seek Amy and moving wicker walls for Me Against The Music – a throwback to the track’s 2004 music video with Madonna.
Is she live? Does anyone care? No one is here for Whitney Huston style vocals.
They are here to see Britney do what she does best, entertain.
Throughout the show there was a genuine feeling that concert-goers were witnessing one of the 21st Century’s biggest icons.
Unlike with fellow superstars Taylor Swift and Katy Perry – who have also delivered killer UK shows this summer – there is a genuine will for Britney to do well and succeed.
From the second Britney stepped out onto the stage to her final bow, the crowd cheered from start to finish – going into full meltdown anytime she broke with the perfect pop mould and addressed them personally with a cheery ‘what’s up London,’ or spoke in a faux British accent.
Piece of Me not only offers a welcome break from the political news heavy world we live in today but it shows that despite her troubles Britney is indeed stronger than yesterday and not going anywhere anytime soon.
Many come and go, but there’s only one Britney Bitch.
