The wacky film franchise, which Tara has described as “so bad that it’s good,” became an unexpected success and gained a cult following.
It has reportedly become the biggest grossing film franchise of all time and has helped launch 44-year-old Tara back into the spotlight, since its inception in 2013.
But long before Sharknado, Tara had won a bevy of fans back in the late nineties when she starred in another cult-franchise – American Pie.
“I actually think American Pie five is going to happen”
Tara played Vicky Lathum in the film, who enjoyed a romance with Thomas Ian Nicholas’ character Kevin Myers.
Thanks to her blonde bombshell looks, Tara was in an instant hit and was skyrocketed to international superstardom.
Like the Sharknado series of films, the American Pie series also went on to be hugely successful and fans have been praying for another instalment following American Pie: The Reunion back in 2012.
Well we’ve got some good news – speaking to Daily Star Online, Tara implied that another American Pie film may be in the works.

She said: “I actually think American Pie five is going to happen – we’ve been talking about it for years.
“But I was at a party about a month ago and I went up to the directors and I was ‘Come on guys, when are we making a five? There’s loads of interest out there.
“And they kind of looked at each other and were like, ‘It’s happening.”
Tara also revealed all about her time on Celebrity Big Brother in 2011, where she struck up an unlikely bond with Irish X Factor stars Jedward.
She divulged: “Celebrity Big Brother was fun when I did it then you know, and meeting Jedward, who I love.
“They’re sweethearts and they’re smart, which people don’t realise. They direct, they produce and they write their own lyrics.
“And lots of people say they play characters in real life and in the shows and stuff they do, but I’ve seen the real side to them.”
The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time will premiere in the UK on Monday 20 August at 10pm on SYFY
