Eyal Booker was unlucky on Love Island over the summer, experiencing two failed romances, including a doomed match with Megan Barton-Hanson, 24.
But that didn’t put the 23-year-old off reality TV, as he signed up to compete on the current series of Celebs Go Dating.
As fans of the hit E4 show will know, the off-screen drama overtook the celebs’ search for love back in September, when coach Nadia Essex made a shock exit mid-way through filming.
The 36-year-old handed in her resignation after it transpired she had created two fake Twitter accounts to troll former Celebs Go Dating coach Eden Blackman.
As a result of her controversial departure, new love consultant Paul Carrick Brunson — a US TV personality who once worked for Oprah Winfrey, 64 — was forced to continue alone.
With Nadia arguably the show’s biggest personality, her absence was no doubt felt on set.
Daily Star Online caught up with Eyal at the VOXI x Phones launch, where he dished the dirt on what really happened during filming.
Talking exclusively to us, the model revealed he and his fellow celeb contestants knew of Nadia’s exit before it hit the headlines.
Eyal explained: “We were made aware of it, as and when we needed to be. We knew before the public, but I think she was aware of it first. We were told about it so we could continue to film.”
Booker went on to praise Paul, who picked up the slack following Nadia’s public fall from grace.
“Nadia was a huge part of the show, and the fact she’s not anymore is sad”
He said: “Paul is a great guy. He’s an incredible addition to the show, and a very wise man. He took on both roles, very well, and without any of us pestering him.”
While Nadia raised eyebrows with her actions on Twitter, Eyal is standing in her corner.
Revealing he is friendly with the former TV starlet, the Love Islander told us: “I’m in contact with Nadia. I think she’s a really nice lady.
“I don’t judge people for anything bar my own interactions with them. Everyone has their own reasons for doing things and their own motives.”
Nadia recently revealed she visited A&E after suffering from anxiety due to her woes.
Eyal told us he is sympathetic towards Essex, and her current predicament.
The unlucky-in-love star said: “Of course I feel for her. She was a huge part of the show, and the fact she’s not anymore is sad.
“But at the same time, she seems to be happy and getting on with her life.”
Standing by his pal, he added: “I’m just there for support.”
Forget Love Island’s Georgia Steel, it’s Eyal who is loyal, babes.
