The Greatest Dancer has received an impressive reaction from BBC One viewers as fans tune in for the first episode.
The show kicked off by hosts Alesha Dixon and Jordan Banjo introducing the three judges Cheryl Tweedy, Oti Mabuse and Matthew Morrison.
But viewers couldn’t help but take to Twitter to laugh after the hosts introduced Cheryl as a “dance icon”.
One tweeted: “Someone called Cheryl a dance icon, as if,” followed by a laughing emoji.
Another wrote: “Dance icon?? is he joking?”
A third added: “This is awful…. cringing at Cheryl. She needs to retire or disappear like the rest of Girls Aloud.”
Viewers weren’t done cringing yet, during the first performance of a group of male dancers Cheryl seemed to get a little excited after they ripped off their shirts.
Sat back in a yellow crop top, Cheryl’s jaw dropped as the first man took his kick off.
But it wasn’t all hate for Cheryl, as the camera turned to her as screams could be heard from the audience.
Girls could be heard screaming, “We Love you Cheryl,” to which she replied, “I love you too”.
Other viewers also joined in on the love, one wrote: “I’m so so glad that Cheryl is back on my TV. I love her!”
Another said: “Everyone needs to cut Cheryl some slack. She’s so lovely!”
Things got entertaining after a super fan of Cheryl’s entered the stage.
After he admitted that he didn’t know how he would contain himself by seeing the pop star in the flesh and declaring his love for her, his fiancée appeared on the screen.
The audience erupted into fits of laughter as Cheryl looked shocked, looking guilty she said: “It’s not my fault.”
Dancing to her song Crazy Stupid Love, Cheryl jumped on stage and the pair “danced their socks off” together.
Explaining her awkward dancing, Cheryl told fellow judges: “I could not remember the choreography.”
