Audioslave and Soundgarden legend Cornell died aged 52 last week following a concert in Detroit.
It was confirmed that his cause of death was suicide by hanging.
Earlier this week, Chris was cremated at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery with just four people present, including his wife and brother.
Today, his ashes were buried at the graveyard at a funeral attended by celebrities and friends.
Batman star Christian Bale was seen sitting down for the service, while actor Jeremy Renner was pictured speaking to fellow mourners.
Chris’ close friend Brad Pitt attended the funeral, while Cornell’s fellow rockers Dave Grohl, Dave Navarro, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Gavin Rossdale, Courtney Love, Jimmy Page and Joe Walsh all paid their respects.
Pharrell Williams, Lisa Marie Presley, James Franco and Josh Brolin were also in attendance, according to TMZ.
Eulogies were given by Brolin, Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, Tom Morello and Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament and Matt Cameron.
The members of Audioslave and Soundgarden also attended the funeral.
Chris’ wife of 13 years Vicky was seen being supported by friends as she bid farewell to her husband.
The couple had two children together – Toni, 12, and Christopher, 11.
Fans of Cornell will be permitted to visit his final resting place following his funeral.
The legendary rocker is best known for songs Cochise and Black Hole Sun, while he recorded the Bond theme for Casino Royale, You Know My Name.
