Best pal Beverley Callard still has her friend’s name on her dressing room door nearly four years after her tragic death.
Cast members even call dressing room seven “Anne’s room”.
A large photo of the star hangs on the wall to commemorate the muchloved actress, who played Deirdre Barlow for nearly 42 years.
Beverley, 61, who has played Liz McDonald for 29 years, chats to her departed pal each day when she arrives at the ITV soap’s studios in MediaCityUK in Salford to get ready.
A source said: “No-one could bring themselves to remove the name plaque so it will just stay.
“Anne wasn’t just an actor in Coronation Street – she was Coronation Street.
“There are very few people who you can say that about. Corrie was in her DNA and her DNA was in Corrie.
“She is missed every day – not least by Bev.
“They were great friends and sometimes you can hear Bev talking to Anne while she’s getting ready – probably having a good old moan!”
