Ken has lived on the Cobbles from the very beginning, starring in Corrie’s first episode on December 9, 1960.
The English teacher was the first Weatherfield resident to go to university and is known for his lengthy marriage to Deirdre Barlow (Anne Kirkbride).
Meanwhile, Rita’s time on the Cobbles has been just as eventful.
The Kabin owner moved onto Coronation Street back in 1964 and has established herself as the town matriarch.

“It was like, ‘Oh my God I’ve got Ken Barlow, I’ve got Rita Sullivan,’ so my preferences are broad.

“We have a big story for Amy Barlow coming up.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
