The Masked Singer has taken the United Kingdom by storm since it exploded onto our television screens last week.

The ITV guessing game sees 12 famous faces perform dressed head-to-toe in an outrageous costume including a mask.

Telly favourite Davina McCall is one of the celebrity detectives on the show alongside Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora and Ken Jeong.

Speaking about singing up for the show on today’s This Morning, Davina admitted: “I didn’t get it.

Davina McCall appeared on This Morning sofa today to chat about The Masked Singer

“I thought Why is it good? Surely people will want to see the celebrities that are singing not covered with a mask.

She continued: “Then I thought it would be like the others. I watched the US version and I was like wow.”

The former Big Brother presenter said that ITV reminded her that it was a guessing game and not a talent contest.

Davina also confirmed that there will be a new famous face on the panel in upcoming episodes as The Hangover actor Ken was called away from the show for other work commitments.

Holly and Phillip quizzed Davina on her role on the wacky ITV guessing game show

“Donny Osmond came on panel when Ken couldn’t make it,” Davina revealed.

“You’ll see him on screen soon. He was harsher then I thought.”

Bosses of The Masked Singer have gone to extreme lengths to ensure the identities of the famous faces involved are kept under wraps.

Davina, 52, told Holly and Phil: “Only six people knew who they all were.

Davina confessed she “didn’t get” The Masked Singer before she signed up to the show

“They arrived in blacked out cars, they’d go straight out to the back.

“My car wasn’t allowed to pass certain point, and they all worked around with ‘don’t speak to me’ on them.”

The brunette beauty also went on to reveal that some of the celebrities are hiding a brilliant voice and some have changed their accounts to make her detective work even more difficult.

The Masked singer continues on ITV on Saturday at 7pm
