The 60-year-old Strictly Come Dancing star has revealed that she has been secretly battling the disease.
Debbie McGee underwent surgery last week to remove two tumours after doctors found cancerous tissue in her left breast.
Doctors were able to catch it during Debbie’s routine screening.
Her husband magician Paul Daniels lost his battle to cancer over two years ago.
Debbie, who was Paul’s assistant for his magical tricks, said she felt “lost” going through her battle without him by her side.
“Stress, I think caused mine”
She told The Sun Online that she believes the op was a success and that her breast cancer was triggered by the stress of losing Paul.
Paul died of an incurable brain tumour at the age of 77 in 2016.
Debbie said: “Stress, I think caused mine.
“I’ve never been through the stress I’ve been through since I lost Paul.
“Grief hits you in so many ways you’re not expecting. It’s not all about sadness.”
Debbie, who is a trained ballet dancer, was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in October.
She had surgery to remove two affected areas on Thursday January 17. The dressings were removed last Wednesday.
The widower told the publication that she considers herself “the luckiest person in the world” after doctors then gave her the all-clear.
Debbie will now undergo regular monitoring to make sure the disease does not return.
But she does not require any chemo or radiotherapy.
