As Eamonn told viewers about the upcoming divorce segment, he joked: “There could be a divorce happening in the studio.”
Later, as the pair discussed nasty splits with a divorce lawyer, Eamonn teased: “I’m not thinking about doing this myself or anything, but do you have a card?”
The lawyer replied: “I do indeed,” as Ruth pulled a face at her husband’s joke.
Fans rushed to social media to comment on Eamonn’s cheeky remark, as one posted: “Don’t get divorced Eamonn! You can’t afford to. Ruth will get most of your money. You are safer married.”
Another added: “As if Eamonn! Shouldn’t Ruth be the one inquiring about divorce?”
A third wrote: “I think Ruth is getting her number afterwards just in case.”
A fourth chipped in: “Ruth asking about mediation, do her and Eamonn need it?”
Meanwhile, the pair got very heated with one of their guests today as they grilled Will Hurley over a paramedic being given a parking ticket on an ambulance as she parked on double yellow lines to get water.
Fans took to social media to slam Eamonn and Ruth as Eamonn said to him: “Will you have the unfortunate task of representing the dos hated professionals in the world. Basically you’re in a very embarrassing position here and you’re trying to be neutral about this.
“But you know it’s wrong, we know it’s wrong, if we ran a phone poll here today, you would be wiped off the planet, it would be 101% against you. why don’t you just change the rules?”
Ruth chimed in too, as she interrupted Will before sniping: “Hear me out, okay?”
This Morning continues tomorrow at 10.30am on ITV.
