EastEnders‘ Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) was brutally murdered by Martin Fowler (James Bye) after his affair with Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) was revealed.
EastEnders spoilers have hinted that Keanu isn’t actually dead, as his true fate will be confirmed tonight in a special flashback episode.
But fans think they have found proof that Martin never killed Keanu, as speculation has been rising that Martin helped Keanu escape and then lied to Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden).
Some fans have taken to social media to predict that Ben had more of a role in Keanu’s death than he is letting on.
One big theory is that Ben pretended to order Martin to shoot Keanu dead, but actually planned for his brother-in-law to flee Walford alive.
On Christmas Day, Martin appeared to show Ben a clip of him killing Keanu, leaving him on the floor with blood around his head – while viewers didn’t see the actual clip of him getting shot.
Ben’s reaction appeared to confirm Keanu was dead, while his name was not mentioned – and Ben didn’t even ask what he’d done with the body.
Since then, Martin hasn’t been seen getting rid of a body, despite burning evidence on a fire in the woods, and Ben still hasn’t asked at all about Keanu’s remains.
Taking to Twitter one fan said: “WHY DIDN’T BEN ASK WHERE THE BODY IS!!!!! That’s the first thing you’d ask. There’s no body cos Ben’s in on the double cross and knew Martin helped Keanu flee.”
Another said: “My theory is that Ben changed his mind (maybe because of the wallet???), though. I think he wanted Keanu’s death faked and something went wrong and Tubbs died. It will be interesting to see which theories are correct and which ones are not.”
A third agreed: “When Martin shows Ben the Keanu video he says he disposed of the gun, but he doesn’t mention what he did with the body and Ben doesn’t ask. This only makes sense if Ben knows Keanu’s alive.”
But a fourth argued: “Ben wouldn’t have said you really did it if he didn’t see Keanu getting shot.”
Is Keanu really alive, and does Ben know the truth?
EastEnders continues tonight at 8pm on BBC.
