Gillian Wright recently returned to the EastEnders cast as Jean Slater, confused over the apparent death of Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace).
Of course, it turned out that Kat wasn’t dead and she turned up to her own wake, which Big Mo (Laila Morse) had requested.
But Mo had been trying to raise funds to pay back the family of a man she’d conned out of £5,000.
Debt collector Annie Pritchard (Martha Howe-Douglas) turned up to get the money back from Mo, but it’s not going to be easy for her.
Mo and her family pretended she’d died, though Martin Fowler (James Bye) revealed she was very much alive.
Now it seems Annie and her cronies could be targeting Mo’s family in a bid to get back at her?
After tonight’s visit to Albert Square, it looks like that could be her exact tactic.
Jean went into the kitchen at the Slaters’ but she completely disappeared – could she have been kidnapped?
The fan-favourite character is vulnerable due to her history with mental health problems, so she could have been easy-pickings for Annie.
Earlier in the day, Mo had been trying to get some more cash pretending to be a fortune teller.
Jean had gone to make dinner but when Mo and Stacey (Lacey Turner) went to check on her, the back door was wide open and kitchen completely empty.
Weirdly, neither Stacey nor Mo were too worried by Jean’s disappearance – but what if she doesn’t turn up?
Elsewhere in the episode, Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) was left heartbroken after finding out Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) had got someone else pregnant.
But when Mitch confronted his apparent other woman later, she confessed she’d made the baby up – though knew Karen wouldn’t believe him if he told her.
EastEnders continues Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
