Elton John hubby spills all about upcoming Rocketman film: ‘We have input into everything’

Based on the music legend’s life, the film will tell the story of the singer’s extraordinary rise to the top.

Kingsman actor Taron Egerton will play Elton himself, while Bryce Dallas Howard will play his mum Sheila Eileen.

Chatting to Daily Star Online, about the flick said: “I was down on the set the other day and we have released the first teaser trailer for the film.

“Fingers crossed but I think it is going well.

“I am so happy with everything I have seen so far and I think Taron is doing an unbelievable job.”

Admitting he and Elton would only ever agree to make the film if they would retain control, David, 56, added: “We are producing the film, so of course we have input into everything.

“You don’t do something like this and hand it over to the other people with out having a sense of involvement and control.”

David explained: “He just doesn’t want to travel around the world anymore… he really finds it hard on him, it takes him away from his family.

“Our children are getting older, they aren’t little babies anymore, they are little people and they have needs and wishes and it’s hard to do that from the other side of the world.”

“I don’t think he should stop totally either as he is an amazing live performer but you won’t be coming to a town near most people ever again.”
