Emmerdale ‘s Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) recently returned to the soap after being sentenced to a year in prison for grooming Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren-Plant) earlier this year.
The Emmerdale cast member only served five months in prison, and as she was released, it was revealed she is heavily pregnant.
Fans don’t know whether Jacob is the father, or whether it is his dad David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden), who was dating Maya while she was grooming him.
But when the two characters find out they could be about to become fathers, could one of them lash out and kill Maya and her baby out of revenge?
According to Buzz Bingo’s soap stats, which have been exclusively shared with Daily Star Online, Emmerdale is the soap with the highest numbers of death by suffocation or stranglings.
Emmerdale has had three characters, Sharon Crossthwaite, Genesis Walker and Alex Moss have all suffered the deadly fate at the hands of other characters.
In comparison, EastEnders has had two, both committed by serial killer Lucas Johnson, while Coronation Street hasn’t had any.
Not only that, Emmerdale is the soap the highest number of male killers, with 29 versus ten.
EastEnders has 23 men to nine women, while Coronation Street has had 20 male killers to only six female murderers.
Could Jacob or David resort to extreme measures to get Maya and her unborn baby out of the way?
It has been confirmed Maya won’t be making a permanent return to the soap, and therefore it is unlikely Jacob or David will get to know their child.
Could the soap be planning on killing her off?
It certainly isn’t looking good for Maya…
Emmerdale continues on Monday at 7pm on ITV.
