Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins, who plays pregnant Victoria Barton, has opened up on the possibility of a romance for her character with Luke Posner (Max Parker).
The duo had been getting close until Victoria discovered that Luke was actually the brother of her rapist Lee, the father of her unborn child.
Since moving to the village, Luke and his meddling mum Wendy (Susan Cookson) have been battling backlash from those closest to Victoria.
However Luke proved he was on Victoria’s side by trying to make it clear to his mum that Lee, who was killed by Robert Sugden, really did rape Victoria.
Victoria is set to give birth over the new year, but could romance be on the cards for when she’s settling into life as a new mum?
Speaking to Daily Star Online and other press at a recent Christmas preview, actress Isabel wasn’t too sure.
She said: “The situation is very difficult, him being Lee’s brother.
“And I think he’s got a lot to deal with because he’s got his mum saying one thing, and Victoria saying another thing, but I just think after everything she’s been through, she wants a friend.”
She continued: “If that then turns into something, who knows?
“I think that would be nice. She deserves a happy ending, but we’ll just have to see how it all unfolds.”
Victoria goes into labour on New Year’s Eve, when her waters break as she leaves the celebrations.
But will she enter 2020 on a more positive note after a 2019 from hell?
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV
