Gavin and Stacey star Mathew Horne hit by TRAIN after Christmas night out at pub


Mathew, 40, was walking to his parents house in Burton Joyce, Notts, on December 20 when the incident took place.

A source said: “He was clipped by a train and knocked backwards. He had a miraculous escape.”

Despite not needing to go to hospital, Mathew was checked over at the scene by paramedics and a doctor.

Earlier in the evening, the star had been seen in The Nelson pub.

Speaking about the incident, a duty manager at the boozer said: “It was a really, really unfortunate accident and it could have been a lot worse.

“We are all glad that it wasn’t.

“He was obviously very shaken up but he’s all right now.”

They added to The Sun: “He’s got a bit of a scratch on him but no underlying issue there whatsoever.

“Mathew wasn’t taken to hospital.

“The police had to be called just because of the nature of the incident but they were just glad that he wasn’t harmed.”

Mathew shot to mainstream fame in 2007 on BBC hit Gavin and Stacey.

Starring alongside James Corden and Ruth Jones, the series ran from 2007 – 2010.
