The duo joined Channel 4’s hit series Gogglebox in 2015, and soon became firm favourites among the audience.
Giles Wood and Mary Killen, who film the show from their large cottage in Wiltshire, often leave viewers in hysterics.
And tonight’s episode proved to be no different, as the couple — who call each other “Nutty” — shared a surprising tale.
The conversation kicked off when Mary brought up the topic of “food envy” revealing she had never encountered the feeling of being jealous of someone else’s meal.
When asked if he’s ever had it, Giles said: “Yes, I get it very badly, because I want to eat anything my partner has ordered.
“If my partner has ordered something nicer than me, I want it.”
In response, Mary reasoned: “If I’ve ordered something that turns out to be a dud, I just get on with it. I don’t perv over the other person’s plate. You do.”
The discussion then took a dark turn, as Giles brought up the time a friend of theirs had stabbed his wife for picking food off his place.
Telling the tale in his trademark drawl voice, Giles said: “Do you remember that time that Jo took one of Jerry’s chips and he stabbed her with his fork, and drew blood.
“Even though it was his own wife, he stabbed her hand. It was terrible”
“It made for a very unpleasant evening, didn’t it?”
The Gogglebox star continued: “He was so hungry, he didn’t like this hand coming towards his plate and grabbing his food.
“His instinct was to… Even though it was his own wife, he stabbed her hand. It was terrible.”
Remembering the incident well, Mary let out a hearty chuckle.
Unsurprisingly, viewers soon took to Twitter to share their reactions to the story.
One tickled fan wrote: “Giles’s stabbing story is legit the best moment of Gogglebox ever.”
Another commented: “Giles on the story of having dinner with friends… Husband stabbing his wife with a fork… Well, it made for a very unpleasant evening.'”
Reacting to the tale, a Twitter user noted: “Reasons for divorce. Stabbing your wife in the hand with a fork for stealing a chip. WTF.”
While one viewer posted: “Yeah, I guess a guest stabbing someone with a fork was quite a downer at the dinner party.”
