Holly Willoughby silenced by Ann Widdecombe in SCATHING takedown

, 37, was silenced by guest Ann Widdecombe, 70, on today’s show.

The former politician blasted Holly when she interrupted her mid-sentence with a question.

Talking about the #MeToo movement, Holly quizzed: “Hasn’t that given women a voice?”

Ann replied: “No I do not believe that.”

But before the former Strictly star could explain her point, Holly asked “why?”

“I’m about to tell you if you just had the patience,” Ann snapped. “Are you auditioning for John Humphrys job?

“I once asked him if he was paid by interruption.”

Some viewers were shocked by Ann’s comments and sided with Holly.

One person slammed: “What a rude lady. I hope Holly interrupts her some more.”

“Feeling so sorry for Holly right now, I understand Holly spoke when Ann was giving her points but she didn’t need to respond with the way she did. Very rude,” said another.

However others were in hysterics over the gobsmacking scenes.

A third said: “Haha ‘paid per interrupting.’Phil and Holly being schooled.”

Ann finished her interview with a controversial statement.

She said: “Very trivial things, like wolf whistling, doesn’t matter.

“We’ve lost our sense of humour, we’ve lost our cheeriness.”

Her final message was: “Cheer up, relax, rejoice in the fact we’ve won, look abroad to see women really suffering, and darn well grow up.”

This Morning airs weekdays at 10:30am on ITV.
