He has teamed up with exteammate Peter Crouch and comic Paddy McGuinness to create Triple D.
The unlikely trio are hoping to hit it big in the charts with a track titled Bringing It Home – if England lift the World Cup.
Former Three Lions ace Jamie, 45, said linking up with Take Me Out host Paddy, 44, and Stoke City striker Peter, 37, had created “the worst boyband going”.
But he vowed their footiethemed song would be a “smash” hit.
And ex-Spurs and Liverpool star Crouchy has even promised to teach his new bandmates his signature robot dance.
Jamie, who also played for Tottenham and Liverpool, joined forces with the former England forward and comedian Paddy last month.
Crouchy was already close to Jamie from their footballing days, but all three have become firm friends from their television work.
Dad-of-two Jamie has already had a taste of Crouchy’s vocal skills from his karaoke performance on Sky One’s A League Of Their Own.
“Paddy, the one and only Crouchy and myself have formed Triple D.”
Jamie said: “Paddy, the one and only Crouchy and myself have formed Triple D.
“We are probably going to be the worst boyband going, but we are just having fun.
“We are hoping to do a track called Bringing It Home. It’ll be a smash.”
He is plotting to outdo ex-wife Louise, 43, who notched a No1 with girlband Eternal but never bagged the chart top spot as a solo singer.
