The Loose Women star said: “He’s a danger to himself. For the first time ever, I’m thinking he might have to go [into] residential [care] Monday to Friday.
“He knows if he kicks off in the morning, the driver won’t take him to school. So he’s sussed that and he’s missing out on his education.”
She continued: “It’s so hard. I’ve never had respite, I haven’t got a carer with him, I do it all myself. But I’m really having to think about it.
“I hate it, because he’s my life. Do you know what I mean? But I’ve got to do what’s best for him but it won’t be for ever.”
Katie added: “When he’s smashing things, and the kids are scared of him because he’s big, he’ll chase them and stuff. I’ve just got to do it for him.
“If there’s anyone out there who could give me some advice on what it’s like and how to cope when they go in residential… We’ll find it really hard.”
Katie revealed Harvey has smashed up windows, TVs and eight iPads in the house as a way of acting because he wants to spend more time with her.
Harvey is partially blind, autistic and has Prader-Willi syndrome.
The mum-of-five went on This Morning last month to reveal she is planning to adopt an orphan from Nigeria.
She told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that she got the idea from a woman in a nail bar who works for a Nigerian orphanage.
Katie admitted that she was supposed to fly to Nigeria the weekend before to make arranagements, but couldn’t because she was due to look after her children.
This Morning continues tomorrow at 10.30am on ITV.
