The Bon Appétit singer has revealed her card was embarassingly declined during her first trip to London.
Speaking on stage as her Witness Tour arrived at the O2 Arena, Katy, 33, revealed how the fail meant she was unable to buy a single item of clothing on her visit.
Referencing her ex Russell Brand and her current boyfriend Orlando Bloom, Katy gushed: “I am obsessed with this country.
“I fall in love with the English very easily.
“I have spent so much time in the UK… from writing songs in Surrey to going to Topshop for the very first time.”

“I went to pay and then my card was declined”
Recalling the trip to the capital over a decade ago, Katy continued: “I was so excited…
“I went to Oxford Street when I first came to London about 12 years ago.
“In the US Topshop wasn’t open yet… we had H&M but not Topshop.
“I went to pay and then my card was declined.
“I only had about $ 100 on it anyway but someone had defrauded me.”
Laughing off the fail, the Dark Horse singer added: “It happens…it was my first memory of London… going to Topship and leaving empty handed.

“I know poor me… poor little pop star on the stage at the O2… horrible.”
Throughout the two hour show, Katy proved exactly why she is one of the biggest singer’s in the world.
Performing hit after hit after hit, the Swish Swish singer wowed the crowd with high energy routines and elaborate sets.
Earlier this week ticket resell site StubHub revealed that while Katy’s tour may be impressing fans around the globe her pop rival Taylor Swift is still shifting more tickets on the platform.
Taylor Swift’s Reputation Tour has sold 50% more tickets than her former-frenemy compared to Katy’s Witness tour in June.

Tickets to see the duo are being flogged for face value or less on the site with some tickets to Taylor’s show costing a whopping £76 below the average ticket price.
Daily Star Online headed to Manchester earlier this month to check out Taylor’s first ever UK stadium show being wowed by her high engery routines and impressive vocals.
In a moving nod to the city, Taylor halted her gig to pay tribute to the innocent lives lost in the horror terror attack on the MEN Arena last year.
