The X Factor winners dropped their comeback single featuring the Superbass rapper earlier this month before racing up charts around the world.
Then last night Cardi B went on an epic Instagram rant claiming Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall approached her first to feature on the track.
During her epic rant, the I Like It star said: “That Woman Like Me record?
“Yeah I had to decline it because I’m doing a lot of pop records and I can’t over exaggerate myself.
“But yeah, that came to me first, and then they gave it to you.”
Backing up her point she then played a demo of the song on her phone.
Hitting back, Little Mix took to Instagram to write: “We just want to clarify… Nick was approached first.
“Sorry Cardi hun but this is the tea, we’ve always wanted the Queen.”
Now Daily Star Online can reveal that bandmates Jade and Leigh-Anne insisted they were fans of Cardi and wanted to work with her on their next track.
Chatting at the 2018 Attitude Awards in London earlier this month, Jade and Leigh-Anne said: “We first worked with Missy Elliot and now Nicki… tick, tick – two legends.”
When asked about a future track with Cardi B or not due to the bust-up, she added: “Ahh do you know what she is next on the list.”
Despite branding Nicki the queen, Little Mix are yet to meet the superstar rapper.
“We haven’t met Nicki yet,” the girls added at the LGBT ceremony.
“She’s hard to pin down that one but she’s amazing and the love she has been giving us on social media, she is really supportive.
“She’s just shot the video as well. She’s been amazing.”
