Louise Redknapp rushed to hospital with painful facial injuries

Louise Redknapp has been forced to pull out of the 9 to 5: The Musical, following a freak accident.

The former wife of Jamie Redknapp has reportedly had to give up her role in Dolly Parton’s show after suffering a deep gash on her chin and fracturing her left wrist.

Strictly Come Dancing star Louise was given urgent treatment but has been told that she cannot work for at least two months.

The seriousness of the injuries means she must miss the show’s opening night in London, which Dolly Parton is reportedly attending.

A source close to the Eternal singer told The Sun: “It happened on the way to rehearsals on Tuesday morning. She fell in the street.

“She went to hospital and had stitches. Then doctors told her she needs time out and can’t do the show.

“She is obviously completely devastated because this is a dream role for her. It doesn’t seem fair.”

The publication also published pictures of Louise’s injuries, including a gash on her chin.

She was seen on Wednesday leaving her home to go and tell show bosses of her situation.

It’s been reported that producers will now have to decide whether or not to replace the 44-year-old mum in the show, which is taking place at London’s Savoy Theatre.

In a statement, producers said: “We hope Louise will start performances towards the end of March or early April.

“Due to an injury this week, Louise Redknapp has had to temporarily withdraw from performing the role of Violet in 9 to 5 The Musical.

“The recovery time recommended means Louise is no longer able to properly rehearse the show in the remaining time left before opening.

“Together we have made the difficult decision to delay Louise’s start date in the show.

“We hope that Louise will start performances sometime towards the end of March/early April 2019. Everyone at 9 to 5 wishes Louise a speedy recovery and we look forward to welcoming her back.”

Daily Star Online has contacted Lousie’s spokesman for comment.
