Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance at Variety’s Power of Women event in Los Angeles yesterday, joining Margot Robbie, Emily Blunt, Billie Eilish, and more at the star-filled function. This is one of Meghan’s first red carpets since moving to California years ago, and perhaps a signal that the Duchess of Sussex will be making more appearances like this as she plans next steps in her career. Meghan signed with talent agency WME in April.
Style-wise, Meghan opted for a one-shoulder tan dress by Proenza Schouler with side slits. She wore her hair in a bun and kept her makeup very minimal.
She spoke to Variety about her show Suits’ newfound streaming success, saying, “Isn’t that wild?” She stated she had “no idea” what has caused the renewed interest in the series, which aired its last episode in September 2019.
She offered her theories, saying, “It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit. But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”
She also teased her next plans to the outlet, revealing that more exciting projects are coming. “Things that make people feel–I was going say ‘good,’ but it’s more than that, things that make people feel something, right?” she said. “And feel a sense of community. But we have so many exciting things on the slate. I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m just really proud of what we’re creating. My husband is loving it, too. It’s really fun.”
