Meghan Markle set for 'worst wedding' as US star describes Royal day

The 36-year-old comedian was speaking on Fitzy and Wippa’s breakfast radio show in Australia when she made the shock comments.

The I Feel Pretty star was asked by the hosts what she thought about the upcoming Royal Wedding when she revealed she doesn’t think former Suits actress Meghan Markle will be able to enjoy her big day.

She said: “This poor girl. Your wedding, everyone says it’s your day. It’s your day. She’s like, ‘no it’s not’.

“She has to meet all these foreign dignitaries she’s never met before, there’s so much pressure.”

She added: “Can you imagine having a worse wedding?”

IT SUCKS: Amy vocalised her thoughts on the upcoming royal wedding

Amy married her husband Chris Fischer in a surprise low-key wedding ceremony in Malibu in February this year, just two days after going public with their relationship.

She had previously dated long-time boyfriend Ben Hanisch for two years before the duo split and Amy went on to marry her new beau just months later.

Speaking of her own wedding, the star described it as a boozy affair where everyone was “high and drunk” before saying she felt bad for Meghan, who wouldn’t be able to do that at her own big day, due to Royal etiquette.

She said: “That would suck. Her girls from high school aren’t going to be there. It’s like a parade, it’s like Westminster Dog Show.”

BIG DAY: A-list celebs such as Jennifer Lawrence attended Amy’s wedding

Shortly after the radio show was aired Amy’s took to her official Instagram page to reassure fans that the comments were all made in jest.

Uploading a short clip of her riding her bicycle with her adorable dog Tats strapped into the front basket, the Trainwreck actress said: “Tats strapped in for family bike ride. Also everyone my comments about the royal wedding were a joke.”

She continued: “I’m sure it will be a great pressure free day that’s just about the couple and their best friends! Relax lil honies. It was a joke on an Australian radio station.”
