Almost a decade after his death, Michael Jackson’s close friends continue to claim that he is alive and in hiding.
Jackson died in his Los Angeles home on June 25, 2009, with a lethal concoction of prescription drugs in his system.
His death devastated fans worldwide, and A-list celebrities flocked to his funeral to pay their respects.
However, certain members of the popstar’s circle believe that his death was a hoax, and that Jackson is alive today.
“If people can think Elvis is still alive why the f*** I can’t think Michael is still alive?”
Rapper Akon has announced in the past that he believes there is truth to the conspiracy theory, and that the singer will make a comeback in years to come.
Over Twitter, Jackson’s producer Teddy Riley then went on to comment: “Akon is my friend and we think alike.”
Riley, who collaborated with Jackson to create the 1991 album Dangerous, has speculated about the truth behind his friend’s death for years.
In 2010, he tweeted: “If people can think Elvis is still alive why the f*** I can’t think Michael is still alive?”
In another bizarre confession, the star’s former hair stylist Steve Erhardt hinted at a comeback to an online group of ‘believers’.
In the 2017 Facebook post, the hairdresser said: “You heard it here first, an announcement of sorts.
“In a couple of months, or latest at the end of the year, you will be receiving some very good news.”
The cryptic post continued: “It’s almost unbelievable. And not even the family knows… but I do.”
However, there has been no substantial evidence to support any of these claims.
The King of Pop has been making headlines over the past few weeks in the build up to the release of a controversial new documentary.
The film, Leaving Neverland, is anticipated to reveal the full extent of Jackson’s alleged sexual abuse of minors who stayed with him in his notorious California ranch.
