  • NeNe Leakes has responded to rumors that she was fired from Real Housewives of Atlanta.
  • Apparently, NeNe is currently in contract negotiations.

Real Housewives of Atlanta obviously would not be the same without NeNe Leakes, and for a moment there it looked like she was potentially not returning to the show. On Wednesday, NeNe had fans speculating after she tweeted-and-deleted “You are NOT gonna get away with this! I promise” and then RT’d a fan who said “I wouldn’t watch RHOA without Mrs. @NeNeLeakes she is what keeps me watching the show, she cracks me up!”

RHOA viewers jumped to the conclusion that NeNe had been fired from the show by Bravo, but nope—they’re simply in negotiations.

“We are in negotiations! Not sure where these rumors are coming from!” NeNe told Entertainment Tonight. “If these negotiations don’t work out, I will announce it myself.” She also made that clear on Twitter, writing “I promise I’ll be the first to tell you myself! Thanks you for the love.”

NeNe’s manager Steven Grossman also shut down rumors to People, saying “It is absolutely not true that Nene has been fired from RHOA. Furthermore, it was made abundantly clear prior that she will always be welcome on the series as long as she wants to be.”

Grossman added that they are “having on-going bigger picture conversations with NBC Universal and have not made any decisions regarding next season specifically. Any speculation or sources trying to create controversy by stating otherwise are incredibly inaccurate. Bloop.”

Meanwhile, Bravo told Entertainment Tonight that “There is no truth” to the story that NeNe had been let go, saying “NeNe was not fired and conversations for the next season are still ongoing.”

    Literally, phew.
