Rachel Riley was quizzed on Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff about the iconic quiz show today.
The maths whizz, who dates Strictly star Pasha Kovalev, recently wowed fans with a racy plunging dress.
But now, the 32-year-old has spoken candidly about the ins and outs of the Countdown set and revealed that the team are far from careful in their approach to bad language.
“The filth they come out with is unbroadcastable at any time of day”
Addressing her role on the Channel 4 show, host Matthew Wright asked: “You must have turned over words, perhaps too strong to be broadcast?”
And her response lived up to its billing.
“I mean, you asking me this on a live programme is quite dangerous,” she replied.
“But yeah, definitely.
“If you imagine what a Countdown producer will be like, you might think of a little old lady in a cardigan with a dictionary.
“But Damian [Eadie] is from Blackpool, he wears a leather jacket with a skull and crossbones and he’s a skinhead.
“He’s the quickest, filthiest, cleverest man you’ll ever meet.
“We film 15 shows in one block in three days when we’re doing it, so the gallery are constantly trying to make me laugh.
“The filth they come out with is unbroadcastable at any time of day.”
Fans loved it, too.
“This changes the meaning of Countdown forever,” one wrote.
While another simply asked: “What’s not to love about Rachel Riley?”
