More than six in 10 Scousers – 61% – own a luxury item such as a big-name perfume, handbag, watch or clothing.
Belfast, where 57% of people own high-end goods, came second, followed by 56% in Brighton.
In Sheffield, 55% possess a luxury item, in Cardiff 52% do, while half of Glaswegians own one.
Just under half of London adults own a fancy product, along with Newcastle and Edinburgh.
But in Birmingham, just one in three people own a lavish item.
Across Britain, men are the highest spenders, owning an average of £923 worth of top brands.
Women have an average of £751 of top-of-the-range products, a poll of 2,500 adults found.
Chanel is the favourite brand choice for women, while men prefer Hugo Boss.

Perfume is the top buy and handbags the most popular accessory.
The study for Privilege home insurance showed brand popularity varied in different locations.
