The TV series we all know and love, that followed Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda around the streets of Manhattan, has been reimagined as a virtual reality [VR] spoof by porn company Reality Lovers.
The first ever episodic VR porn series – featuring a subtle title change from Sex AND the City to Sex IN the City – has cast a line-up of four lookalike women from the HBO series.
So while Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon are nowhere to be seen, their doppelgängers are up for X-rated fun.
Keeping the original character names, porn star Cherry Kiss will play Carrie, Nikky Dream slips into the shoes of Samantha, Tina Key takes on the role of Charlotte, and Elena Vega stars as Miranda.
The porn series, which started in May, is set to stick to many of the original storylines and will follow the four adult performers as they live the Sex and the City lifestyle in the world of virtual reality.
Viewers are able to experience the series in two ways, either by simply sitting back and watching, or by getting up close and personal to see it all with the point-of-view [POV] option.
POV is popular on video games, for example holding the gun while playing an active shooter, and has since spread to the world of porn.
This means, viewers of Sex in the City will experience virtual reality sex with the porn star versions of the Hollywood actresses by using a headset to immerse themselves in the VR realm.
With the popularity of VR on the rise, this new series sparks questions as to what control famous faces have over their image and brands being turned into hardcore content.
And recently, there has been an influx in the demand of celebrity sex dolls in the porn industry.
DS Doll, who mass produce realistic sex dolls, revealed that they are often contacted about making hyper-realistic robots that resemble A-listers.
SEX AND THE CITY
“Usually it is their ‘ultimate’ desirable person, and no, not just female”

Speaking to Daily Star Online, marketing manager Sam said: “We get at least four enquiries per week.
“Usually it is their ‘ultimate’ desirable person, and no, not just female.
“We get a lot of requests for female wrestlers, superheroes and a lot of actors and actresses.”
Meanwhile, AI [artificial intelligence] expert Jordi Vallverdú also said sex dolls could even one day sound like the celebrities they’re meant to replicate.
He explained: “Advanced techniques could also be implemented for voice patterns.
“The agreement between the celebrity and the company is the main consideration.
“Beyond this point, everything is possible.”
It seems Sex in the City may be the only reprise we get of the fab four New Yorkers, as Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall are still at loggerheads after Kim publicly called Sarah out on Instagram earlier this year when her brother died saying: “You are not my friend… So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”
