Singer of world's most irritating song Friday is BACK after 7 year blackout

Starring on US talent show The Four: Battle for Stardom, the 20-year-old singer is on a mission to reboot her music career after ditching the dream when Friday received mass backlash.

The Four is a singing competition that doesn’t have an audition stage, instead contestants have to sing in front of the judges.

Unlike The , the decision about whether the performer can progress has to be unanimous.

One of the celebrity judges to immediately recognise Rebecca, was Meghan Trainor.

She excitedly gushed: “You’re Rebecca Black! Dude!

“Oh my God, I’m fangirling so hard.”

IT’S FRIDAY: The star has undergone a huge makeover since her first single, Friday

Despite not getting a seat in the show, it has given Rebecca more confidence to get back into doing what she loves.

Revealing to Entertainment Today, she said: “For so long I was really scared of those kind of shows and I never thought I would do them.

“I went through such a roller coaster after Frida’ and there were just, I really was not ready to do something like that until The Four came into my life.”

The star opened up about her overwhelming criticism back when she released the single, and explored how it has impacted her today.

She continued: “With my situation, it wasn’t just like, ‘Wow, everyone’s watching you.’

“It was, ‘Everyone’s watching you and there’s a good chunk of people that really don’t like you or are telling you to do something else.’

“I still see it happen to people, but it was, like, just kinda like the wild, wild west back then, and people just said whatever they wanted.

“There’s this idea that the person behind it isn’t going to see what you actually say or comment, but the chances are, they do.”

DEBUT: After releasing her single on her 13th birthday, the singer hit a tonne of backlash

Rebecca continued: “We all look at our social media, and it’s impossible to look at a comment and be completely emotionless about it.”

After hitting a whopping 122million views on YouTube of her release of Friday, the star still has the video – horrible comments included – on her account.

The account, simply named ‘Rebecca’ now sees the star vlogging with the occasional singsong, and in the past seven years the star has changed so much that she’s almost unrecognisable.
