Nazaneen, 33, revealed she cried after a Sky viewer tweeted her telling her to “lose two stone or stop standing sideways”.
Nazaneen hit back, posting: “Why is MY weight of YOUR concern? Think before you speak.
“You don’t know what’s going on in my private life. And regardless I am still the same person on the inside – whatever my weight. That’s all that matters.”
She later added on social media: “Thank you to every single one of you who replied to my previous horrid tweet. I immediately regretted giving him the satisfaction of my attention by retweeting it and I’m ashamed to say it did make me cry. I know, stupid.
“But then I read all your wonderful messages and I felt like I had the longest, warmest, and biggest virtual hug – and that’s why I love my job, because you all care about my weather forecasts no matter how big or small I am, or how sunny or cloudy it is.
“I’m not going to lie, when my alarm goes off for work at 3.30am it’s hard to wake up but knowing you guys are going to tune in and watch for your days weather forecast makes me happy and I feel so privileged to be able to do that for you all.”
Nazaneen replaced Lucy Verasamy on Sky back in 2010 as a weather presenter, while Lucy moved onto ITV’s Daybreak.
The pair have been compared since their near-crossover, with fans debating which is their favourite.
One posted back in 2017: “Nazaneen Ghaffar…is she taking over Lucy Verasamy in my heart?”
Another added: “I think Nazaneen Ghaffar has taken over from Lucy Verasamy as my favourite weather girl.”
Nazaneen married BBC reporter Charlie Rose back in 2016 with a tradition Persian blessing in honour of her Iranian heritage.
The wedding was attended by This Morning’s Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
