To the great outdoors we go – or inside the Gucci Flagship store. The North Face dresses people who seek adventure, and Gucci dresses people who seek a thrilling escape, a fantasy. Together, they have collaborated to create the ultimate explorer’s wardrobe and everything one would need to go camping, bask in nature and ground themselves – Gucci style. Creative directed by Alessandro Michele and photographed by Daniel Shea, the campaign is so ’70s, as the Gucci gang explore the Alps in all the fabulous floral prints made especially for this collection, intertwined with the new The North Face x Gucci logo. And yes, there is a Guccified tent. The campaign is soundtracked to Credence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Bad Moon Rising’ – the band’s practice studio was adjacent to The North Face’s original retailer in Berkeley, California. We like the musical detail. The collection continues both brands sustainable missions, with the luggage made of ECONYL®. Archival fabrics are in the mix, with the colour palette inspired by the ’70s and curated from The North Face’s materials library. A clever collaboration. See the collection below. The North Face x Gucci will be available at a temporary pop-in at the Sydney Flagship store from Saturday January 9, and at a pop-up in Chadstone, Melbourne from Friday January 8. We expect to see the North Facers and Gucci lovers camping out in anticipation. No pun intended.
