I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! returns for season seven in 2021, with a whole new raft of celebrities vying to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle. Except this year the contestants will be reckoning with the dangerous spiders and snakes of the Australian outback, instead of the creepy crawlies of Africa, in their home away from home.

Who stars on I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! in 2021?
The first full-length promo for I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! promises that “kinda famous people from here and abroad have signed up”, including a pop star, renowned chef and an AFL player. The show has also promised a “true diva” — which may be another way to say pop star — and a Brownlow medal winner.
Some more contestants have been hinted at through clues. The clue for “one of the biggest names in Aussie TV” is: “Why would they be going into the jungle if they’re scared of monsters?” “A double act” has also been promised: “This opinionated twosome is used to dishing it out . . . but now the shoe is on the other foot.” A “funny lady” is a “stand-up who is used to heating things up”. A “reality star” is “having one last manicure before the claws come out”. Here’s the hint for the season’s comedian: “When he was in the Hollywood jungle, he had anger management issues.”
In each season, about 14 contestants compete on the series.
Daily Mail reported in November that 2011 Australia’s Got Talent winner, singer Jack Vidgin and The Masked Singer and Australian Idol‘s Paulini had been spotted skydiving into Clarrie Hall Dam, near this year’s filming location, on November 17.
Woman’s Day reported earlier this month that Dr. Chris Brown was trying to convince actor Bec Hewitt and her tennis player husband Lleyton Hewitt to sign up for the series. New Idea wrote in the same month that Lindsay Lohan, who is believed to be returning as a judge on The Masked Singer in 2021, and actor and singer Rob Mills are likely to join the cast. The Herald Sun floated in November that former AFL player Robert “Dipper” Dipierdomenico would be heading to the jungle, as well as Dancing With the Stars‘ Sharna Burgess.
In October Woman’s Day wrote that prominent anti-vaxxer and celebrity chef Pete Evans was also being courted for I’m a Celebrity “to create a bit of a buzz”. But Network Ten confirmed to The Herald Sun in November — a day after Pete posted and defended a neo-Nazi meme on Facebook — that he will not star on the the next season. The paper also reported that he had been dumped from the cast while in quarantine, ahead of filming starting mid-month. The Australian wrote that same month that Pete had been replaced by another chef from My Kitchen Rules, Irishman Colin Fassnidge.
Other names floated by Woman’s Day include The Bachelor‘s Abbie Chatfield, actor Tania Zaetta, swimmer Ian Thorpe, singer Lorrae Desmond, controversial footballer Israel Folau, disgraced celebrity chef George Calombaris and influencer Tammy Hembrow.

The location, less than an hour from the Gold Coast is the site of the UK version of the show. The UK series has been filmed in Australia since 2002, first in Tully, Queensland, before moving to Dungay, and this year will be shot in Wales.
The Herald Sun reports that filming is set to commence in November. That’s a change from previous seasons, where the show has been filmed live in January, with the public voting on which contestants participate in challenges and are eliminated.
