The N-Dubz star turned X Factor judge helped write 2012 mega-smash Scream and Shout only for it to be snapped up by Will.I.am and recorded by the pop princess.
Before it fell into Brit-Brit’s hands, the track was set to be included on her debut album The Female Boss under the name I Don’t Give A F***.
Reports claim that after Tulisa launched a legal bid against Will.i.am for co-writer rights, the Black Eyed Peas superstar admitted: “Tulisa wrote to that song before I did – this is the truth.
“But the producers of the beat didn’t want her to have it.”
“Finally Tulisa feels she has been recognised for creating the biggest hit Britney has had in over a decade”
During the drawn-out court case, it was revealed that the Young hit-maker’s vocals were included on Britney Spears’ final version in which she sings in a British accent.
Now, after winning her legal battle Tulisa, who has just released her latest single Sippin’ has been awarded with a gold disk for recognition of sales of over 1,000,000 in the United Kingdom.
A source told Daily Star Online: “Finally Tulisa feels she has been recognised for creating the biggest hit Britney has had in over a decade.
“The five-year legal battle now seems worth it.”
Taking to social media, the starlet shared a snap of her disk along with the caption: “Bout friggin’ time lol.”
Speaking on Loose Women about winning the case, Tulisa said: “I don’t feel bad blood about it.
“At the end of the day it’s not a move I would have done.
“But look at the success that he’s got out of it and off the back, I can’t complain.
‘I’ve got a number one hit in loads of countries around the world, so everyone won.”
The former TV judge added: “It’s a shame it had to go that way, but chicken dinner, everyone’s a winner.”
