The late nineties were all about teen movies.
From 10 Things I Hate About You to American Pie, these beloved feel-good films helped skyrocket the careers of celebs such as Tara Reid, 42, and the late Heath Ledger.
And no Hollywood star knows this more than Alicia Silverstone.
While erotic thriller The Crush (1994) was Alicia’s first big screen debut, seeing her win Best Breakthrough Performance at the 1994 MTV Movie Awards, it wasn’t until the following year that she really made a name for herself.
The blonde bombshell became loved the world over when she starred in beloved movie Clueless, all about Beverly Hills’ brats.
Alicia, 41, took the lead role in the film, playing Cher Horowitz who battled between her insatiable clothes obsession and her need to do good.
The film grossed a whopping $ 56 million (£41.4 million) in the United States alone, and coined the phrase “as if!”
As well as launching the career of Alicia, it also helped launched the careers of her castmates including Donald Faison who was to later star in hit TV show Scrubs, Former Fox News host Stacey Dash and the late Brittany Murphy who went onto appear in movies such as 8 Mile opposite Eminem.
Since appearing in Clueless, Britney starred in films including 1997’s Batman and Robin, and Love’s Labour’s Lost (2000) adapted from William Shakespeare’s play and directed by Kenneth Branagh.
She made her Broadway debut alongside Kathleen Turner and fellow nineties star – American Pie’s Jason Biggs in The Graduate (2002).
Alicia also took the leading role in NBC television series Miss Match back in 2003 but the show was cancelled after just 11 episodes.
Despite the lukewarn response, Alicia received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy.
However, in recent years, Alicia has kept fairly under-the-radar, with most of her acting credits being attributed to theatre and indecent films.
But she was back with a bang on Sunday night when she attended the Los Angeles premiere of new film, Book Club.
Alicia looked like she hadn’t aged a day since the days of Clueless as she showed off her sensational physique in a black minidress.
The new film sees Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen star as lifelong friends who have their worlds turned upside down when they read 50 Shades of Grey.
